This burger combination has got to be one of best I've come across in a very long time.Savory, meaty burger, funky, slightly salty kimchi combined with creamy mayo, sweet crisp Asian pear and crunchy sprouts all on a buttery, toasted brioche bun. Every bite is a joy to the senses. Pure heaven!

If you've seen the price of snack bars in the store, you'll thank me for this recipe that saves you money, does not require baking, is healthy & delicious and has no fillers, gunk or stabilizers. Plus it's totally adaptable to the things you want to have in your snack bar so my kind of bar can become your kind of bar too. Use what you love in these bars.
Everyone loves one of those iconic peanut butter cups, but the sugar and all the other ingredients they add have me saying no thanks and looking for a healthier option. Enter my protein loaded almond butter cups. I use good quality dark chocolate for starters. Store brands like Lilly's no sugar added or Enjoy Life are some great options.
Nearly everyone loves a good deviled egg. They have returned as a classic party appetizer, having a resurgence from their 1970s heyday. But deviled eggs now have taken a fancy twist and you see them adorned with caviar and taking on all kinds of interesting flavors.
I love my offerings with an Asian miso twist, or simply with a smoky, pimento cheese spread twist.
I hate to openly admit this, being a Southerner, 40 years in the making, but I have never ever liked pimento cheese spread. I know it's a classic here in the south, but the flavors just never sang to me… Until now.
I went about making a spread that I thought I might like, replacing briny pimentos with smoky roasted red pepper. I continued the smoky theme by adding smoked cheddar (or smoked Gouda) in place of the traditional cheddar cheese. Success! A most delicious, smoky, pimento cheese spread that my husband declared was very good, very, very good, very, very, very good! I think that's pretty high praise from him. Dig in to these flavorful tacos. You won't miss the meat and you'll be arm wrestling over every last velvety Mexican inspired tidbit.
Perhaps the most soul satisfying, yet ridiculously easy Italian dessert that speaks to the senses. Cold, creamy ice cream with a shot of hot, dark espresso poured over. That's it! Kind of like an adult version of an iconic ice cream float. The Italians knew what they were doing when they came up with this heavenly bite.

These are one of the easiest no-bake cookies and remind me so much of the holiday as my mom would make them for my dad. He would plop a couple of these balls of bourbon goodness into his coat pocket when he would go outside on a wintry day to work on the farm. He said they helped keep him warm.
Growing up in the Midwest, puddings were one of my favorite desserts. I preferred them warm, straight off the stove top (Yes, real pudding is other worldly and is actually made in a saucepan & not from a box.)
Rice pudding is so comforting and is one of those desserts that transports me back to childhood. This pud also has roots in other cultures like Mexican and Indian, and actually my current favorite way to make this creamy, oozy pud is with hints of India like cardamom, pistachio and rose.
A mezze board is a fabulous quick and easy way to entertain that looks simply stunning. I put this board together in about 5 minutes with items thoughtfully purchased from the store,
Let your guests dig in as a precursor to a Greek or Middle Eastern style meal, or simply let it stand in as your light meal with a glass of crisp white wine.
I love all things Italian and I adore simple recipes, so I knew I had to share this delicious cookie recipe with you.
Italian lemon and almond cookies, known as Ricciarelli, have a delectable, almost creamy marzipan like interior with bright notes of lemon and a slightly caramelized powdered sugar exterior. They are divine, have only 4 ingredients, come together in 1 bowl and are gluten free. Need I say more?
I would far rather make myself a healthy snack then buy protein bars and other packaged items at the stores that are aimed at the quick fix.
These lovely orbs of vanilla latte goodness are packed with protein, healthy fats and Omega 3 with a slight kick of caffeine thanks to instant espresso powder. You can definitely leave that out if you're making for little ones.
I have been watching those lovely puff pastry freeform tarts all over social media and knew I wanted to try them for myself. They were filled with everything imaginable, both sweet and savory.
When I came home from the grocery store I realized I had purchased phyllo (or Filo) pastry instead of puff pastry, but not to be dissuaded I decided to forge ahead to make the tarts with phyllo pastry and they were fabulous! (It's is not uncommon for me to purchase the wrong thing. In fact it's kind of a joke between Tim & I ;-)
Thinly sliced sweet potatoes slightly crisp on the exterior and creamy in the interior laced with flavorful bits of chicken sausage and onion as well as smoky paprika all cooked in a skillet and turned out whole. This dish is a stunner, yet surprisingly simple and inexpensive.
This chicken salad is so fresh and tasty. It has the light flavors remeniscent of the Mediterranean all held together with the slightest hint of pesto mayonnaise. Tons of vibrant sweet, ruby sun-dried tomatoes, briny Kalamata olives and crunchy celery are what make this outstanding in the world of chicken salads. It is simply wonderful.
Golden, creamy and cooling dairy free ice cream with the unique fragrant flavor that only saffron and cardamom can bring along with the crunch of pistachios. This is truly an ice cream that deserves its own moment to savor and enjoy and can be made very simply with or without an ice cream maker.
I love to travel and part of the fun of travel is trying cuisines of different areas. Not too long ago Tim and I were in northern Italy and Switzerland with some friends and while dining at a brasserie in Zürich we came across this traditional Bavarian meatloaf.
Moist chocolate cake enhanced with coffee that really doesn't give much of a coffee flavor, but seems to make the cocoa even more chocolatey. Top it all off with a fabulously easy chocolate icing that is poured onto the hot cake right out of the oven. Can you imagine it? No wonder this was in my Mom's regular rotation of things to bring to a potluck, church social or family gathering.
Chewy, ooey, gooey maple oat bars covered in chocolate that are a cinch to make? Yes please! These bars come together so quickly. It's basically mix, bake, chill and enjoy. It's literally that simple.
The fact that these bars are gluten-free and have no processed sugar just adds to their ooey, gooey allure. I use quick cooking oats, which makes them gluten-free.
I love a good Matcha latte. It doesn't matter to me if they're hot or iced and I even love them all blended up like a Frappuccino minus all the sweet stuff that is typically added to a Frapp.
This beautiful version that is enhanced with fresh mint is my new favorite and I am enjoying it on the regular. It's very easy to make, taking only a few minutes and the mint flavor steps into the milk very quickly as you heat it up. |
