I have been watching those lovely puff pastry freeform tarts all over social media and knew I wanted to try them for myself. They were filled with everything imaginable, both sweet and savory.
When I came home from the grocery store I realized I had purchased phyllo (or Filo) pastry instead of puff pastry, but not to be dissuaded I decided to forge ahead to make the tarts with phyllo pastry and they were fabulous! (It's is not uncommon for me to purchase the wrong thing. In fact it's kind of a joke between Tim & I ;-)

Who doesn't love sloppy Joe's? I would hazard a guess to say that's very few individuals indeed. Sloppy Joe's are universally loved for their ease of preparation and family friendly vibe.
Everyone goes for a Sloppy Joe no matter how unkempt this sandwich may appear. To the contrary, juices oozing down your chin and making you question if you should have used a fork is probably part of its allure. Comfort food in its finest hour. 
Beautifully seared, slightly spicy chicken enhanced with a good marinade of chili garlic crisp served with a bright, vinegary rustic salsa that surprises you with sweet pops of roasted red pepper and tiny bites of dried currant, not to mention the crunch of pistachio The combination is surprising and truly amazing. The perfectly seared and succulent chicken and vibrant salsa complement each other phenomenally well.
Thinly sliced sweet potatoes slightly crisp on the exterior and creamy in the interior laced with flavorful bits of chicken sausage and onion as well as smoky paprika all cooked in a skillet and turned out whole. This dish is a stunner, yet surprisingly simple and inexpensive.
