While some bakers toss it without a second thought, others have learned that this humble byproduct can be transformed into something delicious, satisfying, and surprisingly addictive: sourdough discard crackers.
Let’s face it—crispy food without the guilt is the dream. Enter: Air Fryer Chicken Schnitzel. It’s all the golden, juicy, cutlet-y magic you’ve seen blowing up your feed, but made lighter and faster in the air fryer. Bonus? No standing over a hot skillet and zero greasy cleanup.

When summer peaches are at their peak—ripe, juicy, and bursting with flavor—it’s the perfect time to make a classic French dessert: clafoutis. Traditionally made with cherries in the Limousin region of France, this custardy treat adapts beautifully to other fruits, and peaches might just be the best version yet.
Pastry cream may sound fancy, but with a bit of care, it’s totally achievable at home—and the payoff is well worth it. Once you master it, you’ll find endless uses for this creamy, dreamy delight.
Let me know in the comments: What’s your favorite way to use pastry cream?
So easy to prepare, so impressive looking & so delicious! I'd say this checks all the boxes.
If you've ever had zucchini bread of any kind, you know it's famous for being moist and so delicious that you honestly have no idea there's a bounty of veggies swirled throughout. Now if I add some antioxidant loaded raw cacao (cocoa powder), you're sure to think you're diving into some decadent brownie like loaf.
No Pizza Oven? No Problem!
Let’s talk about sweet, salty, and spicy perfection: the Pineapple, Prosciutto & Jalapeño Pizza. This flavor-packed combo might sound a little rebellious to traditionalists, but once you take a bite, you’ll get why it works. And the best part? You don’t need a fancy pizza oven to make it at home—just your regular oven. This recipe is an at-home interpretation of the iconic pizette served at Bar Acuda in Hanalei, Kauai. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of dining there with this sizzling little number in front of you, you know the vibe and all thoughts of "pineapple doesn't belong on pizza" go out the window. This is our way of bringing a little Hawaii back to your own kitchen. There’s something about the scent of cinnamon, vanilla, and golden panettone baking in the oven that makes a chilly morning feel instantly warmer. This Panettone French Toast Casserole has quickly become a holiday favorite in our home — it's rich, fluffy, and just indulgent enough to feel like a celebration. And the best part? You can prep it the night before and simply pop it in the oven the next morning while you get yourself ready.

As a foodie, I’ve always believed that food tells a story—and sometimes, that story takes on a whole new chapter when you change your scenery. Right now, I’m writing mine from the lush, vibrant island of Kauai, where the ingredients speak louder than any menu ever could.
Cashew chicken may not be native to this island, but standing barefoot in the kitchen of my new friend, Parisa Jade (originally of Bangkok, Thailand) with the scent of orchid in the air and knowing the crash of waves is minutes away, this dish takes on a whole new life. ![]() Beware...we're rich! Perhaps that's why they're called Payday Bars. 😉 There’s nothing quite like a homemade version of your favorite candy bar, especially when it’s made with love! My mom’s Payday Bars are a staple of her farmer's market offering and quite popular. A delicious blend of salty peanuts and sweet, chewy caramel like topping that made every bite irresistible. Today, I’m sharing her simple yet scrumptious recipe so you can bring a taste of nostalgia into your own kitchen.
If you're looking for a dish that brings both nostalgia and gourmet appeal to the table, look no further than Mushrooms Au Gratin. This vintage recipe, beloved for its creamy texture and golden, cheesy crust, is a classic that deserves a comeback.
I had the pleasure of connecting with my friend, Kayleen Reusser in a recent trip to my home town of Bluffton, Indiana. Kaye is an author, speaker and has a great blog by the name of Vintage Eats. You can find her at https://kayleenreusser.com. Kayleen loves to bring back nostalgic recipes and I'm all for it. She kindly offered to open her home, and more importantly her kitchen, to share this lovely mushroom centric recipe and I know you're going to love it.

If you’ve never had Heavenly Hots Pancakes, you’re in for a treat! These light, airy pancakes practically melt in your mouth, and the secret ingredient? Greek yogurt (which I sub in for the traditional sour cream for a more high protein version). Unlike traditional pancakes, which can sometimes feel heavy, these beauties are delicate, slightly tangy, and absolutely delicious.
I could not be a bigger fan of sheet pan meals and this gorgeously spicy, succulent shrimp atop the most gloriously roasted brussels and sweet potatoes is no exception,
This Valentine's Day I'm making these succulent, crispy skinned Cornish hens prepared "under a brick" style. This dish is not only impressive, it's budget friendly.
If you're looking for a foolproof way to achieve crispy, golden skin and juicy, flavorful meat, the under-a-brick cooking method is a game changer. This technique, traditionally used for chicken, works beautifully for Cornish hens, giving them an irresistible crunch while keeping the inside incredibly moist.

Ablaze in glory, Cherries Jubilee is one of those iconic, fancy desserts that is so deceptively simple, as many perfect desserts are...(like my Affogato). Cherries jubilee is simply cherries in a brandy sauce, that happens to be set aflame, but not totally necessary if you aren't a risk taker, to achieve the essence of the golden liquor without the drama. Spoon over cold, quality vanilla ice cream, and it's dessert heaven.
