I love a good Matcha latte. It doesn't matter to me if they're hot or iced and I even love them all blended up like a Frappuccino minus all the sweet stuff that is typically added to a Frapp.
This beautiful version that is enhanced with fresh mint is my new favorite and I am enjoying it on the regular. It's very easy to make, taking only a few minutes and the mint flavor steps into the milk very quickly as you heat it up.
I would say five minutes from start to finish and you have a delicious, creamy, beautiful Matcha latte to enjoy as is, or you can pour it over ice, let it chill a bit and enjoy it that way as well as a summer sipper. ![]() I like to use coconut milk particularly, but any milk of your choice will work. I just find that coconut milk has a beautiful creaminess and is naturally slightly sweet, so it goes very very well with Matcha. I add just a teaspoon of agave to enhance the sweetness, but of course sweeten to your liking, .
What is Matcha? Matcha is a traditional green tea that is made by finally grinding the tea leaves until you get a deep, emerald colored powder. The powder is used in Japanese tea ceremonies, but has gained popularity as people all over the globe have become Matcha drinkers, and for good reason
Matcha tea leaves have a specific growing method which boosts chlorophyl, thus enhancing their amino acid content. This tea has pretty much been dubbed a super food as it's loaded with beneficial antioxidants, and can enhance brain function without the caffeine jitters of coffee.
I've been on this particular band wagon for several years. I love all things matcha. Next time you have a mid-morning or mid-afternoon slump, try having a matcha latte come to the rescue.
