This is my very basic and quite simple, but simply delicious iced Matcha latte recipe. I make it both hot and iced on a regular basis.
Macha is a particularly great afternoon pick me up since it has a bit of caffeine, but that caffeine is slower in the absorption so it doesn't keep you up all night, nor does it make you jittery. I find that it just satisfies my craving for something in the afternoon and helps me to focus a bit better throughout the remainder of my day. It's cool, creamy (thanks to coconut milk), slightly earthy from the Matcha and has just a hint of sweetness thanks to a teaspoon of agave. You can use any sweetener of your preference or leave it out.
Some of my favorite affiliate items for this recipe:
Iced Matcha Latte
Makes 1 8 ounces cold milk of choice (I like coconut milk with Matcha) 1 tablespoon hot water (from a recently boiled kettle) 1 teaspoon matcha powder 1 teaspoon agave ice cubes tall glass matcha whisk (optional) straw (bamboo straws work great for this) Play some Matcha powder in a small bowl with the agave (if using) and add the hot water. Using a traditional Matcha whisk or very small spoon, mix the Matcha, agave and hot water together until the Matcha dissolves and becomes a syrup consistency. Pour the Matcha over ice cubes in your glass, then pour over your milk of choice and stir with a straw. Enjoy!
