There is nothing better than a chilled Frosé on a hot summer day. This is the perfect drink for your 4th of July weekend or any summer celebration. It is so simple to make with just a chilled bottle of Rosé wine, some frozen dark, sweet cherries, a bit of crushed ice and a small amount of honey. It's truly that easy.
Everything goes into a blender and seconds later you have a gorgeous, slushy, beautifully colored Frosé. The ultimate in summer sips.
Rosé - Rosé is not actually a grape varietal, but a method of fermenting the grape that leaves less contact time with the purple hued grape skin, leaving for a light pink colored and moderately flavored form of blended red wine. Definitely not a full bodied red. Before I investigated, I actually thought maybe it was a mix of red and white wines, but such was not the case. Rosé is hugely popular right now and has appeared to have been trending for a few years with no signs of stopping.
I use honey in my Frosé. The amount totally depends upon how sweet or dry your Rosé is and also how sweet those frozen cherries tend to be. I find sweetness can vary wildly by brand of frozen cherries and even by batch, similar to how a owl of fresh ripe cherries on your counter will have some that are extremely sweet and some not so much. All in all, the amount of honey used is totally up to your taste buds.
Make a Frosé for your friends, for your honey, then kick back relax and indulge in once yourself.
Frosé all day. Yep, I'm that corny. Cherry Frosé This makes a very generous serving that can actually be divided for 2 if you want to have a more moderate portion. 8 ounces chilled Rosé wine 1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries, such as Cascadian Farms 1/2 cup crushed ice 1-2 tablespoon honey Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth and slushy. Pour into a glass. Enjoy. Frosé all day!
