A blast from my past recipe. Old school Shredded Wheat, buttered, sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon, doused with your milk of choice then baked to creamy perfection, while still giving you a crisp, sugary topping.
My Mom would make this for us when we were kids. You can imagine a wintry Indiana morning and a comforting serving of this hearty baked shredded wheat placed before you. Pure heaven.
All buttered & sugared & ready to have the milk poured over.
Baked Shredded Wheat
Original shredded wheat biscuits butter Sugar and cinnamon mixture or brown sugar or coconut sugar Milk of choice (I love creamy coconut milk for this) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Simply butter the tops of the shredded wheat biscuits. Fit them tightly into your baking dish. Pour milk over to come about half way up the shredded wheat. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the milk has soaked into the shredded wheat biscuits and plumped them up and the top is slightly golden and the sugar has caramelized.
