A simply delightful fall cocktail that uses sweet-tart apple cider, spicy jalapeño simple syrup & tonic water for a much needed nod to bitters. Add some brandy if you want to make it into a cocktail, but wow, is this the perfect mocktail to watch the leaves fall.
If you're ready for a great fall drink, go grab some apple cider and make this fabulous fall beverage.
The jalapeno simple syrup is basically equal parts sugar and water with a sliced jalapeño added in. Bring just to a simmer until the sugar dissolves, then let steep, cool, and store in a jar in your fridge. I like to add this to my cans of Spindrift for a slightly spicy sweet kick. Fabulous!
Apple Cider Jalapeño Mocktail
Per Serving 2 parts apple cider 1 part tonic water 2 tablespoons jalapeno simple syrup cinnamon, sugar & salt mixture (optional to rim glass) I like to rim my glass with a mixture of cinnamon, sugar and course sea salt after first dipping into a saucer of apple cider. . Add ice to the glass. Pour over cider, jalapeño simple syrup, then top with tonic water. Adorn with a jalapeño slice. Jalapeno Simple syrup 1 cup cane sugar 1 cup water 1 sliced jalapeno Combine in a small saucepan & bring just to a simmer. When the sugar is completely dissolved, remove from heat & let cool before adding to a jar and storing in your fridge.. While this is great in making this drink, try a drizzle over pound cake or angel food cake with some berries. Also great mixed into a fruit salad.
